Kelly has specialised in personal injury law since qualifying as a Solicitor in 2004. She has extensive experience having represented the interests of both individuals and corporate clients in personal injury claims arising out of work place, public liability and road traffic accidents.
Kelly joined NewLaw in 2012 as a Solicitor within the serious injuries team where she acted for clients who had sustained serious and often life changing injuries and is now the Head of the Employer’s and Public liability department at NewLaw. She manages a team of paralegals and solicitors dedicated to pursuing claims on behalf of clients who have been injured at work, on holiday or in a public place.
In her limited free time, Kelly relishes spending time with her family and friends.
Solicitor - APIL Accredited (Fellow)
Welsh speaker Cenric who is a member of the Occupational and Public Liability Department at NewLaw solicitors, is accredited as an Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) Fellow. He is a member of the APIL executive committee (since 2008) and was formerly co-ordinator of APIL Wales and APIL’s Occupational Health Specialist Interest Group (1998-2008).
A highly experienced personal injury expert, he specialises in accidents at work,. Cases range from farming and agriculture to construction and healthcare (primarily for injured nurses), and also in industrial disease.
Cenric is the Secretary of the National Assembly for Wales’ Cross Party Group on Asbestos; is the spokesperson for the Right to Know Asbestos in Schools Wales Campaign; a member of the Asbestos in Schools Group and is an observer member of the Joint Union Asbestos Committee.
Cenric has regularly chaired and lectured at APIL asbestos and industrial disease conferences and has lectured on APIL’s annual Accidents at Work Series since 2003. Over the years he has published many articles on varying aspects of personal injury law.
He is currently a member of the Civil Justice Council Working Group on Fixed Fees in Noise Induced Hearing Loss Claims and a member of a Justice Stakeholder Group established by Welsh Government.
He has given many television and radio interviews both in English and Welsh, especially with regards to asbestos issues.

Lynsey joined NewLaw Solicitors in September 2012, after qualifying as a Solicitor in 2010.
Lynsey is the Unit Manager of our Occupational and Public Liability department and acts on behalf of claimants who have suffered injury at work or as a member of the public. She has extensive experience in personal injury and has dealt with a wide range of claims during her career to date, including road traffic accidents, manual handling, working at height, defective work equipment, product liability claims, slips and trips and property damage, acting for both Claimants and Defendants. Lynsey specialises in serious orthopaedic injury and has particular interest in cases involving complex fractures, amputations and fatalities; however she has experience in multiple forms of injury.
Originally from Leicestershire, Lynsey moved to Cardiff in 2002 and completed both her degree in Law and Politics and the Legal Practice Course at Cardiff University. In her spare time she enjoys good books, good food and good wine, and is an avid football fan.
Sian joined NewLaw upon qualification as a Solicitor in 2010 and has over 10 years’ experience in personal injury, dealing with a range of personal injury claims including faulty prosthetic hips, workplace accidents and slips/trips.
Previous successes have included serious road collisions with livestock, dog bites and injury arising out of negligent beauty treatments. Sian has a very active young daughter and spends most of her time chasing after her, however whenever possible she enjoys reading, camping and spending time with family and friends.
Solicitor - APIL Accredited (Senior Litigator)
Graham qualified as a Solicitor in 1999 and since then has specialised in personal injury claims. Since joining NewLaw in 2008, Graham’s work has concentrated on accidents at work and in public places. He has a particular interest in complex and high value cases involving multiple fractures, pain syndromes and psychiatric injury.
Graham is a former panel member of the Law Society’s Mental Health Review Tribunal and is a Senior Litigator with APIL.
Catherine joined NewLaw in 2012 and specialises exclusively in employers’ and public liability claims, including accidents at work, supermarket slips and beauty treatment claims. Catherine also has experience in Package Holidays and accidents occurring in the air or at sea. She completed her Law degree at Swansea University followed by the Legal Practice Course at the University of West England. In her spare time Catherine enjoys baking and running.
Solicitor - APIL Accredited (Senior Litigator)
Susan qualified as a Solicitor in 1992 and has 22 years’ experience in personal injury. Susan has a background in accidents at work, of which includes working at height, in confined spaces, manual handling, faulty equipment, trips and slips at work. She also specialises in accidents in public places which includes falling trees, potholes, trips and slips on pavements and roads, as well as road traffic accidents and has acted for union clients.
Susan's experience extends to cases that involve being injured by animals including dog bites and escaped animals causing accidents. Susan joined NewLaw’s employers’ and public liability department in January 2007 bringing with her, a high level of technical knowledge and expertise in workplace legislation. Recent successes include manual handling, working at height and work equipment breaches. Susan is a Senior Litigator with APIL.
Outside work, Susan enjoys shopping, walking and attempting to control her garden. Susan is a qualified SCUBA diving instructor and cycles to work when the weather is nice.
Chartered Legal Executive
Jonathan is a law graduate who is now a Fellow of the Chartered Insitute of Legal Executives (CILEx). He is a team leader within the employers and public liability department. Jonathan has worked exclusively in personal injury claims since graduating in 2008 and has a wealth of litigation experience, having acted for both claimants and defendants.
Jonathan has brought many successful claims that have arisen from accidents abroad, workplace accidents and assaults.
Nadine joined NewLaw in February 2014. She specialises in claims arising from slips and trips, as well as accidents at work, and has particular interests in criminal injuries. She completed her Law degree and Legal Practice Course at the University of Glamorgan and is a fluent Welsh speaker. Nadine enjoys the cinema and baking for her family and friends.
Julie Sutton is an Accredited Counsellor with the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and is a Fellow of the Institute of Welfare (IOW). She has gained extensive experience in supporting individuals who have been affected by trauma, bereavement, personal injury and mental health issues.
Julie said, “Every day is different and every case is different with its own complexities. Looking at client’s needs from an emotional perspective to assisting clients at their most vulnerable time is humbling and rewarding.”
Julie provides support to our clients all over England and Wales with experience of brain injury and orthopaedic injuries, supporting families in their times of need, especially in the case of fatal road accidents.
The support offered by Julie is an integral part of the our client care and she ensures that the solicitors have regular welfare support updates to ensure the client’s needs are being met.
Julie’s primary aim is to help our client’s regain independence and resume control over their lives.
In her spare time, Julie enjoys the theatre, swimming and learning classical guitar (badly!).
Mike Tonkin is a registered Social Worker with the Care Council of Wales, has extensive experience in assessment, case management and supporting individuals with physical disability, spinal cord injury and brain injury.
Mike said, “I enjoy assisting those who need support and helping them regain independence and bring dignity back in their lives. We don’t work 9-5 as we want to offer a service that’s flexible to our client’s needs, wherever they are.”
