Serious accident 'could lead to motorcycle injury claim'
10/03/2010
A motorcyclist was rushed to hospital by air ambulance on Tuesday (March 9th) after suffering serious injuries in a road traffic accident.
The Times series in the Hampstead area reported that the rider was sustained serious head injuries as a result of the smash, which happened in East Finchley at approximately 13:15 GMT.
A car was also involved in the accident, the newspaper revealed, which could mean that the biker could make a motorcycle injury claim.
The publication noted that the crash happened at the junction of Cherry Tree Hill and Woodside Avenue.
Figures released by the Department for Transport show that the majority of motorcycle accidents on urban built-up roads involving another vehicle happen at junctions.
Police who attend the crash scenes record the factors involved in the incident. The most commonly cited reason for serious motorcycle accidents at junctions involving one or more other vehicles is that the driver failed to look properly.
