Personal guarantees in a difficult economic climate
During recent years, when companies were eager to exploit the market conditions and expand their businesses, it was standard for company directors to give personal guarantees to banks in respect of the loans it took out without considering the full impact of these guarantees on them personally if such loans were not repaid. By giving a personal guarantee to a bank, the company director was making him/herself personally responsible to repay the loan if the company failed to do so.

Are you covered against collapsing holiday operators?
Last week, the UK’s third largest tour operator, XL, collapsed into administration leaving 90,000 holidaymakers stranded abroad.
