NewLaw Solicitors
The New Law team were instrumental in organising the rehabilitation and care I needed. They actively sought out and organised experts that would not only help towards my claim but who also helped with my rehabilitation programme. Mr Treadwell, October 2009

Serious Injuries

Care & Rehabilitation

It is widely acknowledged that early access to rehabilitation will increase the chances of a successful recovery from your injuries.  The Code of Best Practice on Rehabilitation, Early Intervention and Medical Treatment has been introduced by claimant solicitors and insurers to help maximize an injured person’s recovery by providing help when it is needed most. At NewLaw we are absolutely committed to securing the best outcome for each of our clients by working with all of the professionals involved to maximize the impact of early intervention.

To facilitate this, following your accident, you will be contacted by your dedicated NewLaw Welfare Manager who will make an early assessment of your most immediate needs, be it assistance with benefit applications, access to counseling or disability equipment. Click here for a quick guide to benefits you may be entitled to.

Your Welfare Manager will address your specific needs and keep in touch with you throughout the claim process.  In the early days, she can assist with the hospital discharge to your own home and ensure that you are accessing all services that you are entitled to through the NHS and your local authority.  She will also ensure you are receiving all the state benefits for which you are eligible.

As soon as possible, we will arrange for an Immediate Needs Assessment to be carried out by an appropriately qualified individual who will meet with you and with your permission obtain information from those who are treating you.  They will then produce a report recommending a program of rehabilitation encompassing NHS and private provision depending on what is available in your area.

The report will cover all relevant areas of rehabilitation such as physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, psychological input, speech and language therapy, case management, bladder, bowel and skin management in spinal cord injury cases, occupational therapy such as assessment of accommodation and equipment needs and so forth.  If appropriate the report will also make recommendations to plan for your return to work.

Throughout the life of your claim, we will ensure that wherever possible you are given the help and support you need.
