Occupational Illness

Asbestos

Asbestos was used extensively in industry and in construction particularly in the 1950s and 1960s. Very few employers took proper precautions and as a result many workers were negligently exposed to asbestos dust.

Some people who are exposed to asbestos do not go on to develop an asbestos-related condition. Others do. Even the medical experts cannot explain why this may be, although it is thought that it depends on each individual’s personal susceptibility and the strength of their immune system.

NewLaw will give you the best possible advice and assistance. We provide not only excellent legal advice on a claim for compensation but also:

  • Advice on possible entitlement to welfare benefits – including Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit
  • We can put you in touch with relevant charities and support groups
  • How to claim compensation from the government
  • Advice on making a will
  • Advice on investment of compensation you are awarded

If you have been exposed to asbestos and have been diagnosed with one of the following conditions then please contact us now:

  • Asbestosis
  • Pleural thickening
  • Lung cancer
  • Mesothelioma

There are strict time limits for bringing a claim so please do not delay in seeking legal advice.
