Sonic Shock

Workers in large call centres can sometimes be exposed to sonic shock (which is sometimes called acoustic shock) via their telephone headsets.  It is caused by short, sharp bursts of high frequency audio sounds through telephone headsets.

Symptoms can include:

  • hearing loss
  • tinnitus - ringing or buzzing in the ears this is the most common result of sonic shock

If you think you may be eligible to make a claim for compensation for the hearing loss and/or tinnitus, we may also be able to claim for the cost of providing you with hearing aids in the future.

Contact us now for free initial advice on your occupational illness claim.

If we feel that you have a claim for compensation we will not only provide you with legal advice in gaining compensation from your former employer but we will also provide you with advice on possible entitlement to welfare benefits – including Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit.
