Motorbike Accident Compensation

When you have a motorcycle accident it is not only compensation for your injuries that you are entitled to.  You can also claim any losses that you have suffered and any future losses that you might incur. These are called ‘Special Damages’.

We will ask you to keep a list of all of your out of pocket expenses and receipts or other proof of loss:

  • Cost of repairs to your bike
  • Replacement bike hire costs
  • Your insurance excess
  • The cost of replacement leathers and helmet
  • Travel expenses
  • Prescription costs
  • Loss of earnings if you have time off work

We will then reclaim your recoverable losses from the other party.

If you have been more seriously injured and your injuries have an ongoing impact on your ability to work or your lifestyle, you will be entitled to claim for future losses as well , such as loss of future earnings and care and assistance costs – see the Losses and Expenses section under Serious Injuries.
