Cardiff-based NewLaw has expanded its serious injury team with four more experienced lawyers. Brain injury specialist Robert Thomas joins from Hugh James, also in Cardiff, where he was a partner. His special expertise is in acting for children with brain injuries. Rob heads the technical team, which includes Alison Culverwell who represented the claimant in the largest damages settlement ever awarded by a judge in court in the UK.
Stephen Hankin arrives from Bond Pearce in Bristol where he was a partner. He has spent more than 20 years working on serious personal injury cases.
Two other arrivals are Hilton Obery, who joins from LHP Law in Bath where he headed the personal injury claims, and Ian Kinnear from Severn Law in Chepstow. Ian was previously a partner of Thompsons.
NewLaw's serious injury team represents clients nationally and now has 10 lead lawyers in addition to assistants. The firm is best known for its specialist expertise in motorcycle accidents and Andrew Campbell, head of motorcycle claims, was a finalist in last year's personal injury awards for the category of 'Claimant Lawyer of the Year'.
The serious injury team is led by spinal injury specialist Elisabeth Roth, who has 30 years' experience in the field.
NewLaw is the fastest growing personal injury law firm in Wales, and has grown from a team of six to 186 in little more than four years.
