A Barnet biker has received damages of £97,000 after being knocked off his motorcycle while overtaking a line of stationary traffic.
In January 2007 Mr N was riding his motorcycle along Downhills Road in Tottenham. As he overtook a stationary line of traffic a car pulled out and made a right-hand turn, causing Mr N to take evasive action.
He was taken by ambulance to the Royal London hospital, where he was treated for fractures to the arm, ribs, shoulder, leg and knee. He remained in hospital for several months.
There was a dispute over whether the car driver signalled or not. Since the dis-pute could not be resolved because of lack of evidence on this point, the case was settled on a compromise basis.
In a statement, Mr N praised Elisabeth Roth and NewLaw, who negotiated the settlement.
"From the moment that New Law took on my case till the end, I felt I was not only dealing with professional and passionate solicitors, but solicitors who under-stood my situation not only from a legal prospective but also from a social and fi-nancial prospective," says Mr N.
"Elisabeth Roth and her team made me feel confident in their ability and I knew I could trust their judgment and advice. I wouldn't wish anyone the use of Elisa-beth's talents but if the need ever arose I would not hesitate to recommend her!"
