NewLaw managing partner Helen Molyneux has been acclaimed the Welsh Woman of the Year.
The award comes from the Welsh Women Mean Business organization. It recognizes and celebrates women who have shown extraordinary creativity, determination, dedication, courage and entrepreneurial skills.
It is specifically targeted at women owner managers who run small and medium-sized enterprises.
The awards drew 32 entrants, who then competed in one of 12 categories. Helen Molyneux won her category of Best Woman in a Legal Business and then went on to win the overall accolade of Welsh Woman of the Year.
The awards ceremony took place at the Vale Resort and Spa on Friday 11 March.
NewLaw’s extraordinary success is based on an idea by Helen Molyneux, who has set up what is probably a unique business model in the sometimes-stuffy legal world.
The firm was set up in 2004 with a team of six. Now, the firm has grown to over 240 employees.
‘I am delighted to have been awarded the Welsh Women Mean Business - Woman of the Year award – particularly against such outstanding competition. The award is recognition of the great team effort on the part of all the people in NewLaw who have helped the business to grow and thrive over the last 6 years.’
