Law firm, NewLaw Solicitors has raised over £20,000 for the Limbless Association, a charity which provides information and support to people living with limb-loss.
The firm’s year of fund raising culminated on Saturday 15th October when NewLaw hosted a Hallowe’en black tie ball at the Mercure Holland House Hotel, which raised over £10,000 thanks to the 350 people who attended the event, from across the country. Amongst the guests on the evening were the the Trustees of the Limbless Association and a number of the amputee cyclists who, together with a team from NewLaw, recently took part in a London to Paris cycle ride, in aid of the Limbless Association, LimbPower and the Douglas Bader Foundation.
‘Our team at NewLaw has worked extremely hard throughout the year to raise £20k for the Limbless Association – a charity which is very close to our hearts because of the help that they provide to those of our clients who suffer traumatic amputations in accidents. We raised the money to fund extra support to man their 24 hour help-line. We have held cake sales, swish parties, Walk to work, Dress down days, skydiving, runners in the half marathon, a Pimms and Strawberry party, book sale, mobile phone amnesty and last but not least the London to Paris bike ride which alone raised over £5,000, said Helen Molyneux, NewLaw Chief Executive.
"We were overwhelmed at the level of generosity for the charity ball in aid of the Limbless Association, from those that donated the prizes, to those that attended the evening's event, which helped us raise £10k."
The Limbless Association offers support to individuals of any age, whether they are about to have an amputation or are already living with congenital or acquired limb-loss and offer assistance and information to carers, family members and friends if they need it.
David White, Chief Executive at the Limbless Assocation said “We at the Limbless Association would like to thank NewLaw for putting on a fantastic event, All the hard work and effort that was put in to making the night possible was greatly appreciated and the ball was a big success. We would like to thank all the people that took part and attended and to thank them for the amount of money raised’.
