Leading law firm, NewLaw Solicitors, has started the year 2012 with two new high profile appointments, designed to support the continued expansion of the business.
Michael Imperato, President of the Cardiff and District Law Society and the former Managing Partner of Russell Jones and Walker’s office, has joined NewLaw to head the Employers and Public Liability teams. Michael has particular experience of fatal accident claims, disease and employer’s liability claims, sports and travel personal injury claims. He is also an Executive Committee Member of APIL.
Michael is also recognised as one of the country’s leading experts in education law, acting for parents, children and teachers' unions. He has experience in acting for children with special educational needs and in admission, transport, exclusion and school closure cases.
Cenric Clement-Evans, previously a partner at Hugh James, joins NewLaw to expand the accidents at work team. Cenric is an expert in asbestos related injuries in addition to his expertise in dealing with Accidents at Work, Occupational Disease and Fatal Accident cases, with two recent cases settling for over £300k.
Cenric, who is a member of the executive committee of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers and an APIL Fellow, is named as a leading individual in the Chambers guide to the legal profession. He has both acted for and campaigned on behalf of injured people for 25 years.
He has regularly lectured to lawyers on both Accidents at Work and Industrial Disease, including recently co-chairing APIL’s Asbestos Conference 2011. He will be lecturing on Construction Accidents for APIL in January.
Welsh speaker Cenric is delighted to be joining NewLaw at a time, when more than ever, the injured person faces huge obstacles to gaining access to justice.
“I am extremely excited at the prospect of joining an expanding team of talented lawyers and developing a service second to none for our clients. Injured people who have by the very fact of their injury been let down, deserve the best possible legal advice and support. At New Law this is at the very heart of our mission.”
Helen Molyneux, Chief Executive of NewLaw, said of the appointments.
“I am delighted to have both Michael and Cenric on-board as they bring with them many years of experience and fantastic profiles as experts in their fields. These new appointments further strengthen the Occupational Illness and Employers Liability teams and allow NewLaw to branch out into new claimant work with Michael’s expertise in education law.”
