Senior Litigator - Cardiff

Job Description

The Senior Litigator, will have direct supervisory responsibility for a small team of Litigators and roll-up supervision responsibility for the Junior Litigators in the team. They will also proactively manage a small caseload of pre-litigation (predominantly liability disputes) and litigation matters, with an emphasis on complex Fast Track matters. The Senior Litigator will report to the Team Leader.

Main responsibilities

A. Technical Supervision of all handlers within the team and their caseloads
B. Referral supervision for the junior litigators in the team
C. Conduct a small case load of fast track pre and post litigation matters (circa 25 files) D. Maximise opportunities to litigate and realisation of WIP
E. To act in the best interests of the client at all times and to ensure service excellence
F. To assist the team in meeting their KPI's
G. To work with the team leader and Unit Manager to achieve continual improvement within the Fast Track team

You will also have a willingness to keep up to date with legal developments in these areas and share you knowledge in a team focused environment.

You will have strong organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines, income targets, and KPI's. You will be familiar with using case management systems.

A strong focus on client care, good interpersonal skills and demonstrable negotiation skills is essential in this role.

Experience of supervising a team would be an advantage.
