Litigation Assistant - Lender Service Team

Job Description

An opportunity has arisen in our Lender Services Team. We are looking for a candidates to handle volume mortgage repossession claims on behalf of some of the UK’s top Banks and Building Societies. The role will involve drafting Claims for Possession and witness statements, carrying out searches at Land Registry, instructing agents to attend possession hearings and liaising with lender clients and their agents. There will also be the opportunity to assist with more complex/defended mortgage repossession claims. Previous litigation experience in this area would be an advantage although not essential as full training will be provided.

Main duties and responsibilities:

1) Progressing a case load of Mortgage Repossession Claims from issue of proceedings through to repossession of the Property using a case management system.
2) Drafting Claim Forms, Witness Statements and Instructions to agents.
3) Liaising with clients, borrowers and agents.
4) Develop the case management system into new areas of lender services work.
5) Assisting with more complex/defended repossession claims.

Skills Required

1) At least 1 years experience of volume mortgage litigation;
And /or
2) At least 1 years experience of litigation, with a genuine enthusiasm to broaden your skill base;
3) Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and telephone);
4) Good IT skills, previous experience of case management systems desirable;
5) Good understanding of litigation, land law and/or land registry practice would be an advantage;
6) Self motivated with the ability to work to deadlines and income targets; and
6) Strong organisational skills
