Recruitment Officer - Cardiff

The Recruitment Officer will provide professional and high quality, customer focused recruitment administration and support across the recruitment function of HR, enabling NewLaw to achieve its business objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Recruitment

1. First point of contact for recruitment activity and queries both internally and externally
2. Responsible for updating and maintaining the NewLaw website and external jobsites ensuring all vacancies are marketed through the appropriate medium
3. Responsible for the administration of the NewLaw careers inbox, in addition to logging, tracking and responding to all CV’s from various sources
4. Utilising jobs boards and any other appropriate sources in order to recruit more efficiently and reduce costs
5. Arranging interviews and assessments with Team Leaders, ensuring diaries and meeting rooms are updated and providing support to the recruitment and selection process as appropriate
6. All recruitment administration from initial CV, through to offers of employment and letters to unsuccessful candidates
7. Responsible for ensuring that recruitment requirements are met in line with the Manpower plan
8. Taking a pro-active position to ensure recruitment is conducted in a timely and efficient manner
9. Be pro-active in the sourcing of candidates to meet business objectives

New Starters

1. Carry out reference, qualification and Solicitors Regulation Authority checks for all new starters
2. Ensuring all new starter information and handbook are sent to employees prior to their starting date
3. Liaise with Administration, Facilities, and IT teams regarding new starter and leaver requirements.

General

1. Overall responsibility for maintaining secure paper and electronic based recruitment records
2. Responsible for producing general HR correspondence including invitations to interviews and regrets letters
3. Keep up to date with employee handbook and HR policies and procedures relating to recruitment
4. Provide general administration and support dependent upon business requirements.
5. Provide a monthly report to the HR Director on recruitment activities including costs

ULR Junior Litigator - Bristol

The ULR Junior Litigator will profitably manage a caseload of uninsured loss claims acting at all times in the best interests of the Claimant.

Reporting to the Litigation Team Leader, the ideal candidate will be required to:



Litigate cases for uninsured losses and ensure that existing caseload is managed within required timescales.
• Ensure that all of the work carried out within the ULR Team is of the highest standard.
• Assist the Team Leader in respect of all litigated matters both Small and Fast Track within the ULR Team.

The Role

a. The Junior Litigator will manage a workload of files, in accordance with the instructions of the Team Leader. The caseload will consist of Small Track claims with the potential for Fast Track cases where deemed suitable.
b. Any claims that fall outside the Junior Litigators individual authority level are to be reported to the Team Leader.
c. Junior Litigators will comply with the firm’s standard service levels and those that are applicable to particular accounts as a result of client preference.
d. Junior Litigators will handle all cases in the best interests of the Claimant at all times. Any circumstances that prevent this or create a potential conflict are to be reported to the Team Leader and/or the Operations Manager.
e. Junior Litigators will manage their files to ensure that all time spent is accurately recorded.
f. Junior Litigators will manage their files to ensure that all payments made and received are accurately recorded and the procedures relating to payment of disbursements and damages are followed at all times.
g. Files will be maintained in accordance with the file maintenance procedures.
h. Filing will be kept up to date and in date order.
i. The Case Management system will be used properly and effectively in accordance with agreed procedures.
j. Any complaints to be reported immediately to the Team Leader and/or the Operations Manager.
k. Any mistakes or errors are to be reported immediately to the Team Leader.
l. All files in the Junior Litigators system are to be reviewed once per month and a note made on the file (the cabinet review).

Serious Injuries Case Assistant - Cardiff

Objective

Reporting to the SIT Team Leader the CA will be responsible for assisting the solicitors on the serious injuries team with their case loads.

Duties and responsibilities:

a. Dealing with routine administration tasks within the serious injuries team

Case Assistant Care Home Fee Recoveries - Cardiff

An opportunity has arisen in our Care Fee Recovery Team. We are looking for candidates to manage a caseload of claims pursuing the recovery of care home fees against the NHS. The role will involve reviewing medical evidence to establish a patient's health needs/potential claim, collating medical evidence, reviewing eligibility criteria, drafting letters of claim and liaising with NHS Primary Care Trusts/Health Board, patients and medical practitioners
